If you watched the Winter Olympics, you probably remembered US Olympian Gus Kenworthy, who won the silver medal for slopestyle skiing. While in Rusia, Gus Kenworthy found four stray puppies and decided to take them home. Not only him, but also other American Olympians has delayed their coming home because they wanted to be able to adopt the puppies. According to today.com Kenworthy posted on twitter several pictures with him and the dogs, raising awareness about the problem and so got the attention of billionaire Oleg Deripaska,( who is financially helping a Sochi animal shelter) and with his help, they managed to get the dogs on the plane to US. Several sportsmen and women that adopted the dogs are now working with Athletes for animals so some of the dogs could be adopted. In total 15 dogs were adopted thanks to the Olympians and Gus is keeping two dogs for himself.
