Akon’s project brings electricity to one million homes in Africa

Famous singer Akon’s new project aims to help around one million people in Africa. His project called Akon Lightning Africa will bring electricity to around one million homes by the end of 2014, with the help and cooperation of several charities and organizations. The project involves installing solar panels on people’s homes and thus providing clean, green electricity.

Akon is travelling and promoting his project in Senegal, Mali, Guinea Conakry, Gambia, Burkina Faso, Congo and the Ivory Coast. While Akon’s main aim is to bring electricity, the project also hopes through this it will help economy and education. If you want to find out more, check his website.
