Zoo animals saved from starvation thanks to kind hearted people

Animals in a Ukrainian zoo were saved from starvation thanks to thousands of big hearted people. Kharkiv zoo has been established over a century ago and recently it has such big financial problems that it could not afford to feed its animals.

According to goodnewsnetwork.org  thousands of people from Kharkiv and from all over Ukraine came to the zoo over three days to bring food for the animals and money so the zoo can function properly. Due to donations and ticket sales, the zoo managed to get around 124,159 dollars. The zoo officials have said  “To our call of ‘Save the Kharkov Zoo!’ it seems like the entire city responded. This weekend our zoo saw huge lines for tickets, tons of food, and lots of positive emotions. Your help and support for our neighbors on planet Earth revealed the compassion, kindness, and love that will always be part of humanity.” Donations came thanks to Kate Wolf, the founder of Lotus Elephant Sanctuary and an American expat living in Ukraine, who both set up online fundraisers. Japanese video motivates people to choose their own path

This Japanese video motivates us to choose our own path, to not follow everyone or anyone. The idea behind it is that everyone has their own destiny. You have the freedom to do what you want, you can choose your way and you can choose what makes you happy and who makes you happy.

As the runner in the video says” No,life is not a marathon. Nobody can choose our path. Nobody can choose our finishing line.Running anywhere is fine. You can head wherever you like. Everyone has his or her path. Your own path? Does that really exist? Nobody knows. But the world we’ve never seen is vast. So, yes. Start your journey. Think about it and then think more. And then, when you know your goal, go for it. It’s okay to fail. It’s okay to return to where you started. You don’t need to compare yourself to others. There is no single path. There is no single finishing line. There are as many goals and finishing lines as number of people on this planet. All lives are excellent. Who said that life is a marathon?”

Elephant rampages village but stops to save a baby

A few days ago, a tusker (elephant with tusks) was going wild in a village in West Bengal India, when it suddenly stopped to rescue a baby. According to The Independent, Dipak Mahato and his wife were having dinner when they some cracking noise. When they went in the baby room, they found the elephant sitting in their room, over the baby between the smashed walls.

Mr Mahato said “We ran over and were shocked to see the wall in pieces and a tusker standing over our baby. She was crying and there were huge chunks of the wall lying all around and on the cot. The tusker started moving away but when our child started crying again, it returned and used its trunk to remove the debris.”

The elephant started to pick up gently the pieces of wall that fell on the baby, while her parents were watching amazed. The baby was taken to hospital and she is out of any danger now.

I wondered why an elephant would run wild like that in the village and I found out that because people started to build more and more, they have occupied lands that were used by elephants in their migration patterns and now herds of elephants run quite often through the area.
